To Know I Am The Sea
Just because I’ve made the choice
To step into the light,
It doesn’t mean that everything
I say or do is right,
It doesn’t mean that magically
I’ll never cry again,
Or through thoughtlessness or anger,
Will not injure or offend.
That these wild horses called my senses,
Will not sweep my mind away,
That desire will never tempt me,
Or that my heart will never stray,
It means only that I’ve chosen,
To learn how to truly love,
To breathe kindness and compassion,
And from fear to rise above,
To become the Christed being,
I believe my soul to be,
To transcend this tiny wave of self,
To know I am the Sea.
Know I am the Sea.
And if charity begins at home,
Then love begins there too,
And I must learn to love myself,
Before I can love you.
For each of us are tender children,
Regardless of our years,
Soft buds in need of nurturing,
To help us overcome our fears.
The fear that freedom is beyond our power,
And love’s beyond our grasp,
That time is quickly running out,
That the distance is too vast,
So with humble heart I pray for faith,
And forgive myself my sins,
Know with every breath I take,
A new chance for love begins.
To become the Christed being,
I believe my soul to be,
To transcend this tiny wave of self,
To know I am the Sea.
To know I am the Sea.
Grateful Most For You
So many things I’m grateful for,
The earth, the moon, the sun,
I’m grateful for the billion stars,
That shine when day is done,
I’m grateful for the sacred dawn,
That calls my soul to wake,
For my every single heartbeat,
For every breath I take,
For the magic of the four seasons,
Returning each year so true,
But so much more than all of these,
I’m grateful most for you.
I’m grateful for the April streams,
That bring the melted snow,
I’m grateful for the rains of May,
That make the flowers grow,
I’m grateful for the amber hills,
That roll into the sea,
I’m grateful for the summer winds,
That whisper in the trees,
For the mountain’s thundering waterfalls,
Cascading in rainbow hues,
But so much more than all of these,
I’m grateful most for you.
For your never ending nurturing,
Forgiveness poured so free,
For the vision of a better man,
You inspires me to be,
And for the sweet devotion,
Most men only dream to know,
Love stronger than the ocean,
No storm could ever overthrow,
And though I know no song I could ever write
No matter how pure or how true
Could even start to say,
What’s in my heart today,
Somehow, I hope this will do,
I’m grateful most for you.
The Priestess and the Water
Last night as I lay sleeping,
A dream it came to me,
Down in some darkened cavern,
Where my eyes could barely see.
But even in the dim light,
I could see what was happening there,
A priestess dressed in a robe of white,
Sat perched upon a chair.
The chair it sat in water,
A pool shimmering with light,
Then someone came before her,
It was a man if I remember right.
And with her hand she cradled,
With tenderness his head,
Then she submerged him in the water,
Till I feared that he was dead.
And though I strained to see him,
He had disappeared from view,
Was then that I heard someone say,
The next in line is you.
In the silence I stood frozen,
Feet cemented to the floor,
And the panic rose inside me,
Till it became a deafening roar.
Then I heard another voice,
I recognized was mine,
In soft and reassuring tones,
It whispered, you’ll be fine.
Then I found my body stumbling,
Toward the priestess and the Light,
And though terror gripped me to the core,
I had given up trying to fight,
And I fell before the priestess,
And she took me in her arms,
She submerged me in the water,
I had feared would do me harm.
And instantly my fear was gone,
I was filled with joy and peace,
I had no need to hold my breath,
My need for breathing ceased.
Suspended there in silence,
Without a trace of thought or care,
My only wish was only this,
To spend forever there.
Softly then did I awake,
From this rare and sacred dream,
And realized the things I fear,
Are not always what they seem.
Surrender bestows freedom,
Resistance misery,
And the choice is mine alone to make,
And I chose to be free.
Just For You
When the road gets rough,
And clouds fill the sky,
When your heart’s in pain,
And you’re crying “why,”
When love’s sweet embrace,
Has been torn away,
When bitter tears,
Have come to rule your day
When your fields of dreams,
Are scorched and burned,
When you’re on your knees,
With nowhere to turn.
When nothing’s right,
When it all goes wrong,
Just turn on your stereo,
And turn up this song,
May it give you strength,
To feel your pain,
To keep on dancin’,
In the pouring rain,
May it heal your heart,
May it make you whole,
May it bring you love,
May it feed your soul,
This is my wish,
May it all come true,
This is my song,
And it just for you
When love’s sweet embrace,
Has been torn away,
When bitter tears,
Have come to rule your day
When nothing’s right,
When it all goes wrong,
Just turn on your stereo,
And turn up this song,
May it give you strength,
To feel your pain,
To keep on dancin’,
In the pouring rain,
May it give you hope,
When your hope has gone,
May it give you faith,
To carry on.
May it heal your heart,
May it make you whole,
May it bring you love,
May it feed your soul.
This is my wish,
May it all come true,
This is my song,
And it just for you.
And it just for you.
And it just for you.
And it just for you.
The Great Wallenda
He was raised in the wing by a mother who’d swing,
Through the air on the flying trapeze,
And a father who’d dare with a whip and chair,
To taunt the fierce Bengalese,
And though he watched them with pride,
He was caught wide-eyed,
By the man who’d walk the wire,
And by the time he was eight,
He had mastered the gate,
Others took til their teens to acquire.
The Great Wallenda,
Walkin’ a line in the sky,
The Great Wallenda,
The heavens would thunder
Whenever Wallenda walked high.
By the time he was grown the name Wallenda was known,
In every town in every land,
Without a net below, he would heel to toe,
Every height that his line would span.
Over rivers and streets he performed his feats,
From tower and canyon wall,
With his pole in his hand and his will in command,
And his faith in himself most of all.
The Great Wallenda,
Walkin’ a line in the sky,
The Great Wallenda,
The heavens would thunder
Whenever Wallenda walked high.
For every seventy years he cast away his fears,
And brought hope to every heart who’d see,
He’d say to be alive we must forever strive,
To be the best that we can be,
And as with every great who tempts the hand of fate,
The sands in his glass ran low,
And now he’s walkin’ a line in the show divine,
Cheerin’ for us below.
The Great Wallenda,
Walkin’ a line in the sky,
The Great Wallenda,
The heavens would thunder
Whenever Wallenda walked high.
The Great Wallenda, The Great Wallenda
Sweet Forgiveness
I just can’t imagine,
The pain the parents felt,
As their children lay in silence at their school,
And though the man who took their lives,
Did lay among too,
It could not begin to ease a loss so cruel.
Yet even on that fateful day,
In carriages they made their way,
To the home of those whose son had broke their hearts,
To offer their forgiveness,
For the deed that he had done,
Forgiveness that would let their healing start.
Sweet Forgiveness, set me free,
Take away this anger,
That too long has poisoned me,
Free my heart from bitterness and pain,
Sweet Forgiveness, let me love again.
It was only ten days after,
The greats tower were lost in flame,
That an innocent whose only crime,
Was the sound of his good name,
Was, like two of his brothers,
Laid low by hatred’s blast,
Blinded he would live on,
While his brothers breathed their last.
And now more than ten years later,
This good man who did survive,
Has long ago forgiven what was done,
And though forever scarred and blinded,
With full heart his battles on,
To save the life of the one who fired the gun.
Sweet Forgiveness, set me free,
Take away this anger,
That too long has poisoned me,
Free my heart from bitterness and pain,
Sweet Forgiveness, let me love again.
And if even those with wounds so grave,
Who had every right revenge to crave,
Would choose instead forgiveness, shouldn’t we.
Sweet Forgiveness, set me free,
Take away this anger,
That too long has poisoned me,
Free my heart from bitterness and pain,
Sweet Forgiveness, let me love again.
Pledged To Our Love
First comes love’s magic,
Your heart’s dream comes true,
The passion-filled star light,
Love’s sweet morning dew.
The fragrance of romance,
The song of the dove,
The prayers of elation,
To the heavens above.
Then sooner of later,
You wake up to find,
You’re two different people,
With two different minds,
And that’s when the choice comes,
To leave or to stay,
To build something lasting,
Or just walk away.
And just cause the thrill’s gone,
Don’t mean the party is over,
Love hasn’t departed,
It’s just gettin’ started.
Just cause the thrill’s gone,
Don’t mean it’s time that we move on,
Let’s stay here together from now on,
Pledged to our love for all time.
And as time passes by,
And the petals of our love unfold,
They’ll be others still searchin’
For yet one more body to hold,
And while they’re runnin’ scared each time
Some hot new start to grow cold.
We’ll be holdin’ each other,
Still pledged to our love for all time.
And just cause the thrill’s gone,
Don’t mean the party is over,
Love hasn’t departed,
It’s just gettin’ started.
Just cause the thrill’s gone,
Don’t mean it’s time that we move on,
Let’s stay here together from now on,
Pledged to our love for all time.
Just cause the thrill’s gone,
Don’t mean it’s time that we move on,
Let’s stay here together from now on,
Pledged to our love for all time.
Jake’s Song
Some were born to be great heroes,
Born to wear the crown of fame,
To be forever honored,
By the tales that bear their names,
Though fame may not await you,
Or a place in history,
You will always have a place son,
Deep inside this heart of me.
They say a father’s done his duty,
When his son can stand alone,
When he’s ready for a family,
When he calls the world his own,
I’m not sure how long that road is,
Or what future years may bring,
But together we’ll keep trying son,
Until you’ve taken wing.
And son when my time is over,
And I’ve gone to where I’ll be,
They will ask me where my heart is,
For they’ll see it’s not with me,
And I’ll say I’ve left it with you,
Where forever it will stay,
To surround you with my love son,
And help you find your way.
And though I may not live forever,
In this body that you know,
I promise you forever son,
Wherever you may go,
In your very darkest hour,
When you skies seem cold with rain,
That my love will shine upon you,
And help you smile again.
And son when my time is over,
And I’ve gone to where I’ll be,
They will ask me where my heart is,
For they’ll see it’s not with me,
And I’ll say I’ve left it with you,
Where forever it will stay,
To surround you with my love son,
And help you find your way.
And son when my time is over,
And I’ve gone to where I’ll be,
They will ask me where my heart is,
For they’ll see it’s not with me,
And I’ll say I’ve left it with you,
Where forever it will stay,
To surround you with my love son,
And help you find your way.
Amazing Grace
Amazing Grace,
How sweet the sound,
That saved a soul like me,
I once was lost but now I’m found,
Was blind but now I see.
Was Grace that taught my heart to love,
And Grace my fears relieved,
How precious did that Grace appear,
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
We have already come.
Was Grace that brought us hear this far,
And Grace will bring us home.
How sweet the sound,
That saved a soul like me,
I once was lost but now I’m found,
Was blind but now I see.

I Am
Once I thought I was this body,
Once I believed I was this mind,
Never dreamed that peace would find me,
Feared that I’d be left behind,
Then you touched me with your wisdom,
Helped me see the truth I am inside,
More unbounded than the endless ocean,
You unlocked the gated, flung open my heart wide.
I am the hope that washes every tear away,
I am the sun the turns the night into the day,
I am the peace that every heart is searching for,
I am the key, I Am the lock, I Am the door.
I am the ocean that gives birth to space and time
I am the pen, I am the poet, I am the rhyme.
I am the only freedom worthy of the name,
I am the spark, I am the fire, I am the flame.
I am the silence that the singer longs to hear,
I am the light that washes clean the deepest fear,
I am the smile that time can never cause to fade,
I am the love that every lover ever made.
I Want To Be Like You
Lord I know that it’s not enough
To kneel before your feet,
I know that you expect much more
From those who you’ve made complete,
To live your light, to live your love,
In every breath we take
To glorify your spirit here,
So others might awake.
Let me be a hollow reed lord
Fill me your endless grace,
Let me be your sweet compassion,
Hold the world in your divine embrace.
Let me be your touch so tender
Let me be your smile so warm
Let me be your sweet surrender,
Be your peace, lord, calm this raging storm.
Let me be your holy mercy,
Dispel the darkness like the sun,
Pour your love, a river through me,
Ever serving all and harming none,
Let me love with your heart’s freedom,
Humbly let me serve of the Light,
Fill me with your constant kindness,
In every soul, let me your love ignite.
Walk the narrow way,
Turn the other cheek,
Be example to the strong,
And reach out the meek,
Bless the world as it is,
Fill the cup that’s dry,
Help the angry to forgive,
And the wounded heart to fly.
I want to be like you.
Standing here, lord, by your side,
Filled with your grace and freed from pride,
With my heart’s gate opened wide.
Glory Glory (For Mary Magdalena)
Blessed Mary, my holy sister,
You walked with the Master in wisdom and grace,
Together you poured out your love and your blessings,
Holding the world in your holy embrace,
Then in time the fears of men sought to conceal you,
And they cast away your Truth to distant shores,
Until to most your love was but forgotten,
And your spirit was revered on earth no more.
But now the world can bear your absence here no longer,
We are stranded in this wasteland without peace,
Our hearts are lost in pain and fear without you,
And our warring and unkindness never cease.
And so we come here now to sing your praises,
And we pray your Sacred Heart shows us the way,
Your time of reign on earth is quickly dawning,
When the fullness of your love will rule day.
Glory, glory hallelujah,
Blessed sister take me home,
Glory, glory hallelujah,
Don’t let me walk this road alone.
Glory, glory hallelujah,
Mary won’t you wake my heart in love,
Glory, glory hallelujah,
Let the hawk that rules my soul become the dove.

Dancing in the Light
Too long we’ve danced in darkness,
Too long in fear and pain,
Too long we’ve longed for freedom
Too long we’ve worn these chains.
But now a new day’s dawning,
Light has chased the night away,
All the earth will dance with heaven,
Peace and love shall rule the day.
Dancing, we are dancing in the Light.
Say hello to harmony
Say goodbye to strife,
Say hello to faith and hope,
Say hello to life
Say goodbye to fighting,
Say hello to peace,
Say goodbye to vengeance,
Let the violence cease.
Say goodbye to misery,
Say goodbye to pain,
Say hello to sunshine,
Say goodbye to rain.
Say goodbye to darkness,
Let the love shine in,
Say goodbye to gloom and woe
Yes, let the joy begin.
Say goodbye to anguish,
To suffering and fear,
And say goodbye to anger
They will not serve you here.
Say hello to joy and hope,
Goodbye to grief and doubt,
It’s time we waken from this dream,
You know what I’m talking about.
Peace and joy and bliss and love,
Dancing, we are dancing in the Light.

Mother Take Us There
There is a loving place,
Tender and full of grace,
Sweet sister hear our prayer,
Oh Mother, take us there.
There is a loving place,
Where peace shines on every face,
This is the dream we share,
Oh Mother, take us there.
Oh Mother, take us home,
Please melt these hearts of stone,
Guide us with constant care,
Far though our hearts may roam.
Help every soul to fly,
Dance with the angels, soaring on high,
Help every hurt to heal,
Help every fear to die.
Let your love light our way,
Wash every doubt away,
Sweet sister hear our prayer,
Oh Mother, take us there.
Freedom Train
Stranded on a boat out in the middle of the ocean,
Sometimes I feel like I might drown,
Not really sure of where I came up with the notion,
Live should be easy, always up and never down,
Why should I act surprised whenever storms begin to rise,
Wonderin’ how life can be so unfair,
I’m thinkin’ maybe this is punishment for some forgotten stupid stunt,
From who knows when or who knows where.
Put me on the freedom train.
Let me learn to be serene whatever good and bad life brings,
Knowing everything’s going to change anyway,
Let me learn to love it all, the ups and downs, the spring, the fall,
Knowing that it’s just how the gods like to play,
Now I’m runnin’ down the track, and I’m not ever lookin’ back,
Headin’ to the station, going to pay my fare,
All it’s going to cost me is this same old worn out story,
I’ve been telling myself so long, but I don’t care.
As A Man Thinketh
As a man thinketh, that’s what his life becomes,
That’s why some folks eat like kings and queens,
And some just get the crumbs,
It’s a fundamental principle, not just a rule of thumb,
As a man thinketh, that’s what his life becomes.
I know a man well who likes to tell the sad story of his life,
How so and so did him once did him wrong,
And caused him all this strife,
It’s too bad the man can’t understand,
He gets the tune he strums,
Cause as a man thinketh, that what his life becomes.
As a man thinketh, that’s what his life becomes,
That’s why some folks live in misery and some have all the fun,
Cause it’s a fundamental principle, not just a rule of thumb,
That as a man thinketh, that’s what his life becomes.
I know a women who finds good in everything she sees,
Who never doubts her power to manifest whatever she conceives,
It’s no surprise, no matter what she tries,
That good just seems to come,
Cause as a woman thinketh, that’s what her life become.
As a woman thinketh, that’s what her life becomes,
That’s why some folks eat like kings and queens,
And some just get the crumbs,
It’s a fundamental principle, not just a rule of thumb,
As a woman thinketh, that’s what her life becomes.
First it takes intention, be clear on what you want,
Cause nothin’s gonna happen for a mind that’s nonchalant,
And did I mention that it takes attention, constant focus on the plum,
Cause as a man thinketh, that’s what his life becomes.
As a man thinketh, that’s what his life becomes,
That’s why some folks live in misery and some have all the fun,
Cause every single thought we think adds up to our life’s sum,
As a man thinketh, that’s what his life becomes.
Yes, as a woman thinketh, that’s what her life becomes,
Yes, as a man thinketh, that’s what his life becomes.
This Precious Tear
Fighting back the tears,
Keeping pain denied,
Afraid the grief might never end,
We lock it deep inside.
Like a fire slowly spreading,
Till it fills the world with flames,
Consuming every single seed of love,
Till just the hurt remains.
This precious tear can save the world,
This precious tear the healing starts,
This tear can quell the pain and anger,
Dwelling deep inside our hearts.
This precious tear’s the magic potion,
That can soothe the wounds so deep,
This tear can wake the endless ocean
Of love too long veiled in sleep.
So resist your tears no longer,
Let them fall across your face,
Let them wash away the anger,
Let them clear the way for Grace,
And soon the sunlight shall return,
And will spread across the land,
And the darkness will be vanquished,
And love will rule the world again.
Time for Love
I reach out to your heart with love,
But you just turn and walk away,
You say it’s safer in the dark,
Where you can keep love locked away.
These prison walls you’ve built so high,
From pain you felt so long ago,
Have blocked the sun out from the sky,
And left you shivering in bitter cold.
It’s time these walls came tumbling down,
It’s time the sun came flooding in,
It’s time to feel the love here now,
To wash away what might have been.
It’s time to let love set you free,
It’s time to sail among the stars,
It's time we danced upon the sea,
Embrace this precious love we are.
It’s time for love.
The sands of time are rushing out,
I know deep in your heart you understand,
This is no time for fear and doubt,
When sweet surrender is at hand.
Holy Heart
I know your heart,
I know the dreams you hide away,
I hear vyour prayers,
That somehow soon there’ll come a day,
When love will find you,
And sweep you up so tenderly,
When pain will lie behind you,
When you have crossed this lonely sea.
Let me open up your holy heart.
I see the tears,
That well behind your longing eyes,
I feel your fears,
That somehow love will pass you by,
I watch you reach for heaven,
I feel the hope that burns inside,
I hear your heart cry freedom,
I see the tracks of tears you’ve cried.
Let me open up your holy heart.
I’ve come to kiss your tears,
To melt these walls of ice today,
Free you from the painful years,
Free the dreams you’ve so long locked away,
Pour my endless love on you,
Hold you till the dark is gone,
Until your heart is born brand new,
And ready to keep loving on and on and on and on and on.
